John Thomas Engfer provides investment management consulting services to public and private pensions, corporations, hospitals, foundations and endowments in the United States, Puerto Rico as well as internationally.
Mr. Engfer is a graduate of Babson College, with a B.S. in Finance, Economics and Investments. He also holds an M.S. in Management from Boston University. He is a Certified Investment Management Analyst and is a member of the Investment Management Consultants Association. In 1998, he received his CIMA® certification from his work, sponsored through the Investment Management Consultants Association, at the Wharton School of Business at the University of Pennsylvania.
John joined PaineWebber’s PRIME Investment Consulting in 2000. Prior to joining the firm, John served as Second Vice President at Salomon Smith Barney and worked at the firm’s Consulting Group Institutional Services Division serving as consultant to public and private funds. John began working in the investment field in 1987 with Dean Witter Reynolds in Boston, Massachusetts as an intern while completing his undergraduate studies. In 1989 he joined The Boston Company, as an Account Specialist, working on special projects for the firm’s institutional clients. In 1994 he joined Prudential Securities as a Financial Advisor. In 1996, he joined Smith Barney as a Second Vice President of Investments.
John serves on the board of directors of Pro Arte Musical, Puerto Rico’s oldest non-profit organization dedicated to promoting classical music and musical education.
